Always remember, you are a force to be reckoned with.
On 15 February 2021, former Liberal staffer, Brittany Higgins, aired her story on The Project TV and to news.com.au
Ms Higgins alleges that she was raped by a colleague in the office of the then Defence Industry Minister, Linda Reynolds. Ms Higgins was later found by a security guard, intoxicated, disorientated, half naked and lying on the couch in the minister’s office.
The next day, the cleaner’s were ordered in to steam clean the couch and Ms Higgins was offered some counselling. The alleged rapist was sacked from his job a few days later for a “security breach” and not the rape allegation.
The controversy and outrage began when Scott Morrison stated in a press conference that he had only learned of the allegations when it was aired in the media. The alleged incident occurred approximately one month before the federal election in April of 2019. Hmmm…
It seems very sketchy to me that the Prime Minister would not have been told of the incident when it happened. In fact, Katherine Murphy of the Guardian Newspaper wrote about these events here.
Enter, Janine Hendry. The noise on Social Media was relentless. Women were asking what could we do about this injustice. Ms Hendry, inspired by these voices crying out for justice, embarked on a mission to organise a march. Firstly for the thousands of victims of sexual assault and then further to this, for all victims of abuse whether it be the First Nations people, or women suffering at the hands of a domestic abuser, or disabled people, or elderly people. Justice is needed for all who are in need of help and comfort.
Before we knew it, marches were organised all over the nation, in every capital city including regional cities. Women and men of all ages and various demographics came together to express their disgust and anger for how the current government are treating not only the Brittany Higgins revelation, but also at how this government seem to regard the majority of the nation with disdain.

It is a well known fact that they, (the Liberal Government), are in it for themselves and their mates. They will be well looked after while there are many Australians who are unemployed, underemployed, victims of violence, disabled, First Nations people, homeless, or women, who desperately need assistance and for their voices to be heard.
Women, who are 50% of the voters, have had enough and we will not stop the noise until this government is voted out and we get someone who is willing to make the changes necessary to help those in need.
